THE BOROONDARA HAWKS
A SHORT HISTORY
The Boroondara Hawks JFC (BHJFC) was established in 2008 by foundation and stakeholder clubs Canterbury JFC, Balwyn JFC and Hawthorn Citz JFC to provide a quality and specifically tailored football program for 15–17 year old boys, ensuring a pathway for the players to senior football. Local junior clubs often experience a drop-off of older players as a result of private school footy and the commitments of senior high school, and by offering a pathway for those looking to continue playing the Hawks have been able to grow.
Over the years the Hawks have partnered with a number of clubs, and are currently a bridge for older players from the Balwyn Greythorn Jets and the Canterbury Cobras.
In 2022 the club rebranded both its logo and playing kit and introduced its first girls team at Under 15. With a smart new look and a commitment to providing a fun and inclusive experience for all players in Under 15-18 footy, we look forward to welcoming you to the Boroondara Hawks.
